This splendid and rare digestive and dessert wine was born in Piedmont, in the heart of the Barolo land, towards the end of the 19th century. It derives from an ancient recipe, jealously guarded by our family; it was prepared at home, as a remedy for seasonal ailments, through the infusion of very old Barolo, bark of Cinchona calisaia and some aromatic herbs collected in our Alps. This splendid and rare digestive and dessert wine was born in Piedmont, in the heart from the land of Barolo, towards the end of the 19th century. It derives from an ancient recipe, jealously guarded by our family; it was prepared at home, as a remedy for seasonal ailments, through the infusion of very old Barolo, bark of China calisaia and some aromatic herbs collected in our Alps. Matured for a long time in oak barrels, this flavored wine is transformed into an elixir moderately alcoholic, amber red in color with slightly marked ruby reflections. Its intense and persistent spicy scent makes it pleasant and inviting. It is a unique product for true connoisseurs. Among the various ways to enjoy it, it is recommended diluted with soda water, a bitter orange peel and an ice cube as an aperitif. Excellent digestive when served neat at the end of a meal; heated, with an orange peel, it becomes a pleasant and invigorating drink, suitable for cold winter evenings. As well as being a meditation wine, its combination with chocolate-based desserts is interesting and surprising.
